Another one of those books that I have yet I don't know why exactly. I am a huge fan of X-Files. I used to watch it like crazy when Netflix decided to put up all the episodes on Instant. This book read exactly like an episode of the show. I got to say that this book was written full of coincidences. Bad guys look for heroes, they find them by interfering their cellphone frequency. Not only that but they interfere and hear the most crucial plan of their secret plan. Mulder and Scully pursuit one lead and suddenly something happens that is even more important and crucial to their investigation. They're just full of luck, aren't they? Another example is when a character gets shot and it comes off as just inconvenient since we know they survive due to their already mentioned ability to heal themselves. I was just reading and thinking "He'll heal" every time another character was sad/nervous about a person in front of them getting hurt. Bunch of other questions: (view spoiler)[How did the dog survive what happened towards the end? How does the dog know where to find his family? How is it not possible the bad nano did not escape into nature considering the person who had it was constantly leaking/melting? Why did they put the kid in a survivalist camp? He does not like people there much so wasn't there a way to find some relatives that would want to adopt Jody? (hide spoiler)]
First of all, I need to mention that I do not read any books based on TV Series or movies...but...The X files is an exception!! I really really love the series and willing to read more about it. To me, it remains as the best TV series ever produced in the history of television.Antibodies by Kevin J Anderson is not a novelization like I Want To Believe by Max Allan Collins. Antibodies is an original story that never been shown before. I like the story, very true to the series and the characters are also well portrayed. Although I have no intention of reading Supernatural books, but I have heard that people who read it feel disappointed as the main characters weren’t well portrayed. As one of the biggest X Files fans, I dare say that Mulder and Scully were written as how they really are in the series.Antibodies started with the appearance of Jeremy Dorman in what left of Dymar Laboratory. The Laboratory which specialized in finding the cure to cancer was mysteriously burned down by protestors. Dorman was the assistant of David Kennessy, the brain behind the project. As someone who's sort of a junkie for these sorts of books (e.g. books based on existing game or television properties)I actually shot this one a 4 star rating when juxtaposed to, specifically, its competition. Although I thought it spent too much time a dog...yeah, really enjoyed it. There's something about being able to fall into the pages of some prose that takes you deeper than TV can. Recommended for anyone who loves the show. X-Files, unlike, say, Buffy, works extremely well in novel format. The stories are built for it. And this is one of the better attempts at adapting the series.

Now that I finished high school, I finally have time to read. I enjoyed this story but it wasn't anything I would recommend to my friends unless they like the X-files series. It did not have great diction, and the prose was lacking. Metaphors seemed unoriginal and not of adult level. I don't feel like the author truly understood the irony in his ending and didn't provide a proper conclusion to the case file. Still, it stayed true to the series and was entertaining enough for someone who is getting back into being a consistent reader again.

I know this was just supposed to be quick fiction, put out rapidly to supplement the show, but I expected a little more. The story and imagination inside was fine, but it got awful hoaky in parts. There was a great deal of internal thought that wasn't necessary and make the characters seem more generic, even cliche. I know it was constructed according to quick fiction requirements and within the boundaries of the show, but often Mulder and Scully felt more like sketches of themselves instead of being themselves. I probably shouldn't have expected so much, but I did and can't really help that.
