I really liked this Christmas time story. I have not read Life Lessons which I understand comes before this story but even so, I could feel the way Mac and Tony cared for each other. This just made me know that I HAVE to read Life Lessons! Even though it will be out of order, so what.It made me sad that this couple could not be together for Christmas but that didn't seem too bad since they talked to each other on the phone so often. While Tony was in Florida for a family Christmas Mac was busy working a homicide case which he solved. He sure is good at his job. Kaje Harper's "And To All A Good Night" is the story of 2 guys Mac & Tony who are separated at Christmas to be with their individual families. For Mac, he ends up working on the case of Andrew Smithe who dies of an apparent suicide to due antifreeze. For Tony, he's dealing with his slightly out there family in Florida. As the murder case which is our primary plot line roles along, we see just how very much Mac's love for Tony is especially at the holiday season & also the lengths that people would do to protect those they love with Andrew's decision. The characters are believable & the story is very real & touching. A very simple reminder of the gifts of family & love & the lengths people will take sometimes to protect them.
Nice free glimpse into Mac & Tony's life at their first holiday.
