The writing of the biography is solid and it covers Vonnegut's whole life but your interest in delving into this lengthy biography is dependent on your interest in Vonnegut himself. Have to say that my attention waned as he became more a philanderer and I found myself more interested in what was going on with his soon to be ex-wife and longtime partner Jane Cox. Not to say that Vonnegut's life wasn't intriguing and as a writer it was fascinating to learn how long it took him to write one of his most lauded books and how he actually became a figure in the literary world, as well as how much people got paid for stories back in the day. Fascinating insight into my favourite author. We're about thirty years apart, Kurt and I, but I see many parallels in my own life and writing journey. He comes across as a very tortured soul, and who can expect anything else from a man whose mother committed suicide and who witnessed the terrible carnage in Dresden. He had a lot to tell the world about inhumanity and injustice. He did it exceedingly well. God bless you Mr. Vonnegut.
A thorough and well-written biography. It explores the real life of the author, warts and all.

A good book if you're a big Vonnegut fan, otherwise, spend your time with another book.

Good book. Told all about the quirks and wackiness of Kurt, one of my favorite authors.
