I know I enjoyed reading this...but nearly four days after finishing it, I must admit I am a little foggy on exactly why. It wasn't a very angsty book, and there was a whole bunch of GFY floating around, so that was good, but there also seems to be not a lot that was strictly rememberable. I guess. I do remember getting fed up with both of them by the end, though, with the whole 'I want you, you want me, but we can't bloody well communicate worth a damn so we are going to implode in self-made melodrama' thing. Also, being allergic to strawberries must suck. Or to any food, really. I mean, i'm not all that fond of the local flora around spring time, but at least I don't have to fear for my life if someone fucks up my food order. Plus, strawberries are yummy. On the surface, it has a lot of my favorite elements. Older men. Friends to lovers. Gay for you.I enjoyed the story. I love stories with a good friendship setting. Eli and Zane do strike me as friends and for the most part it is believable.Yet something didn't quite fully capture me and I found it hard, at times, to connect to the characters or the story. For one thing, they don't seem like older guys. Eli, especially, comes off as a much younger man. I also felt there was just too much talking going on. I really like Taye though. He's adorable and really brightened up the story for me.
Do You like book And Call Me In The Morning (2010)?
I enjoyed this a lot. Sweet little story with two very likeable characters :)

A simple story, better written than many books who have a way too high rating.
