About book Anatomy Of Injustice A Murder Case Gone Wrong (2000)

You probably don't know who Edward Lee Elmore is, I didn’t. But after you read Raymond Bonner's “Anatomy of Injustice: A murder case gone wrong”, you’ll know all you need to about the flaws in our judicial system and why the death penalty should be abolished.Mr. Elmore sat in prison for 25 years for a murder he did not commit. The justice system, which ultimately "saved" him, failed him when it counted most. He was the victim of a biased investigation, incompetent representation and a judiciary that wasn't willing to see justice done. This book is non-fiction and takes place in SC in the early 80's. A prominent mature woman is murdered. A youn man (mentally challenged) who had helped her with yardwork and house repairs is arrested for the murder. This is a story of his attempt to find justice in a SC town steeped in a deep south mentality. The book tells the stories of the murder investigation and trials-3 to be exact over a 30 year period. Definitely an eye opener about how the legal system works.
