This book gave me a lot to think about particularly regarding what punk music and science have in common. I think the most successful parts were the more biographic sections particularly about the early punk scene in California and the jungle expedition story. Many will find the science to be a bit basic and dry. I recommend this to all fans of Bad Religion and west coast punk. I also would recommend this to people interested in open discourses on religion. Quite a mixed bag here, a book of most interest to Bad religion fans, this book combines a bio of Greg's life and the band with a description of the science of evolution and the Big Bang and concludes with his philosophy of naturalism. I got the most out of the biographical parts, the science parts mostly covered stuff that while interesting is already familiar to me and better explained in other books. The philosophy bit didn't interest me that much. Next time a full bio of Bad religion please !
I loved this book. Maybe its because I loved Bad Religion and all the great punk bands of the 80's.
