Another Kindle freebie. Not bad. Not great. But not bad. Good writing, ok story and character development, lackluster wrap-up.The ending was the biggest miss for me what with everything just falling into place with no real rhyme or reason. Totally could have used an epilogue at the very least.Let's call it a 2.5 stars. Readable in the moment, but pretty much forgettable. A satisfying romance with a bit of spice and sizzle! A most enjoyable read! Lyssandra is in dire straits, her father has passed away and she needs to look after herself and her mother. She comes to terms with the decision that the only way she can support herself and her mother is to become a mistress, but what does an innocent like her know about pleasing a prospective protector? Enter Vivien. Vivien runs a pleasure house and is also good at making good matches between mistresses and protectors. She approaches Viscount Andrew Callis, a widower, to train Lyssandra in the art of carnal pleasure. While his role is to tutor Lyssandra, he is an extremely tender and caring lover, which made the explicit love scenes poignant as they were always centered towards caring for and pleasuring your partner. While Andrew is emotionally shut off since the death of his wife, maybe this innocent is just the person to make him heal and feel again. This book definitely inspires me to read a lot more by Jess Michaels.

I liked it, but I'm VERY surprised Lysandra wasn't pregnant by the end of it.
