Self Published. That's all you need to know. No other choice for the 'recorder' - can't call her an author or writer because she is not. Rambling, disjointed, only little snippets of a story, most poorly written book I've read in a long while. Hollow, shallow, sophomoric, self-congratulatory. And STOP with the !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Her "story" is not unique in any way. An insult to all the other true victims of this all-too-common experience. The author's story was compelling, but the book was not well-written. It was sometimes difficult to focus on the story while plowing through the poor grammar, poor sentence structure and story contradictions. I am sure that the trauma connected with a life such as Amelia's would cause her to mentally alter some memories, just to be able to survive emotionally. The book made me look at how differently each of us are and how we are mostly oblivious to the trials and tribulations of others. It also made me realize how strong the will to survive is and how hope can surmount just about any obstacle. I would like to read the sequel to this book, if it were edited or co-authored by a professional, seasoned writer.
