About book All You Can Eat (2000)

I enjoyed the first volume in this series, wasn't so impressed with the second. Tried the third because I listen to the author's Self Publishing Podcast and wanted to dive deeper into the story. I think three was better than two, but not by much. The story was a little less confusing, but it still felt like it didn't go anywhere. Just when it was getting going with a really interesting fight sequence, the book ended. To be continued. Place maker mini novel... The author was on to something with Fat Vampire 1 and pledged to deliver a book every couple of months. Personally, I've enjoyed his chronicle of the writing, but think this is a good example of why a book every three months may not be a good idea. This release was a place marker that could have used a lot of editing and become a chapter, but ended up being a pretty repetitive mini-novel without a lot of substance. Eventually I think the stories will knit together (with maybe some major editing) to be a fun book. I am reading another 'lyric' novel that comes a few paragraphs at a time... I do like this delivery method. It suits my 'can't otherwise space out a book' issue... but truly this is one of several self published authors that I will read because the talent is good and the stories are compelling, but that I really wish had a good editor...That said, I should probably give it a higher mark, because I do like his writing and tweaking of the genre... I will keep reading them...
