Text to Text: This book reminds me of Blackout by John Rocco because they both are about the quality time spent with family and appreciating the simple things in life.Text to self: This reminds me of all the talks I have with my grandmother. She share her life stories with me and I learn something new each time. In this book the children finds out that there is a purpose for everything and I learn a lot a similar things when having these talks with my grandmother.Text to World: This book reminds me of a family vacation or family reunion. You get to spend a lot of time with family and at family reunions you learn new things about each other and your family history. You discover and learn about a new place (where ever you visit). I got the opportunity to read this book for my practicum students, it was an easy read that was fun and interactive. The book is about a group of family and friends that just simply enjoy the world around them for a day while also seeing the many connections things in the world have with one another. Yet the book is not complicated or complex it reads very easy and is great for beginning and early readers. What I appreciated most about the book were the incredible illustrations. They are fun and goofy and the words of the story fill in within the drawings themselves. It was a great book to read with my 1st grade class and will be looking forward to incorporating within my personal classroom library.
This is a delightful picture book that describes the world around us using only simple words and bold bright illustrations. "Everything you hear, smell, see/ All the world is everything/ Everything is you and me" are rhymes that explain all that has been seen throughout the book. Children are encouraged to see the world all around them and embrace every aspect of every day. This would be helpful in the classroom to help make students aware of the simple things around them. This could aid in sensory awareness and the juxtaposition of concepts such as light and dark, wet and dry, and walk and fly.

I absolutely loved this book. The illustrations are AMAZING, and I think are the focal point of the book. The message of the poem is also beautiful, the world is so many things and we're all a part of it. This would be a wonderful read aloud book, students will love looking at the illustrations and making connections to their own life.
