All the Queen's Players was actually better than I expected it to be. I'm not usually a fan of romances, so when this was given to me as a historical romance, I was skeptical. I guess the author usually writes romances, so this is automatically marketed as such, but there is little actual romance in it. Mostly it deals with the spy network of Francis Walsingham and the plots surrounding Mary of Scots. It wasn't an amazing read and the characters weren't as well developed as I prefer, but it was entertaining enough. I rather enjoyed the ending, even if it did come out of nowhere! I very much enjoy when the unexpected happens in stories, it keeps things interesting :-) This was a good book, albeit slow at times, but the ending made me so mad that I almost threw the book against the wall! (And for those who do not know me, I treat my books like my babies. I have yelled at my mother for accidentally bending a page in my book when she borrows it.) I love historical fiction, so I was really excited when I saw this book on sale at Barnes And Noble, and quickly started devouring it. I enjoyed the different characters, and I was hooked on the quickly budding romance. But I am a hopeless romantic, and was unsatisfied by the ending. I shed many tears the night I finished this book. If it were not for the ending, I would have given this book five stars.
