An alphabet book featuring animals A to Z at bedtime. Text is alliterative and watercolor and ink illustrations extend the sense of peace the text evokes. I was slightly disappointed by some of the letters appearing later in the alphabet (X, Y, and Z) because those are difficult letters that I always look to see how an author handles them. X didn’t stand for an animal and the Zebras didn’t get to enjoy the vocabulary that the other animals did in their alliterative text. On the whole a good title to add to your new bedtime favorites. This is an excellent bedtime (or naptime) book if you give yourself enough time with it (you'll want to put in on the TOP of your book pile!) So much going on with the language (great vocab words, wonderful opportunities to talk about things like opposites and letter sounds) and the illustrations are so inviting you'll want to take your time enjoying each page. Not a book to rush through, but one to ease into and quiet down with.
