About book Alice In Wonderland And Through The LookingGlass (1901)

We all know the stories thanks to one adaptation or another.Since I was a little girl I've loved the Alice in Wonderland movies from the classic Disney one to the one with Tim Burton's creative twist. Lewis Carroll's stories are incredibly renowned and for good reason, too. His writing is so unique and whimsical, unlike anything I've ever read before. His bizarre writing and amazing approach make the stories that much more amazing. I love the stories and poems implemented through the story. After loving the stories for so long, I was absolutely thrilled to read them. Well done, Lewis Carroll. The more I read of this novel, the more I thought 'am I missing something?'. This book is so loved by so many people I thought I missed the most important things in the story. So I reread it. Stil didn't make any sense. I kept thinking 'wtf is happening'. This book makes no sense. It is so weird. Maybe it is only appealing to children as they don't ask questions. Their imagination runs wild. On the other hand I was 13 when I first read it so I could be considered a child. Still didn't get it. I guess the only way to read the book is by not questioning what's happening. Just accept that a girl falls through a rabbit hole, meets a dodo, almost drowns, then meets a weird cat and a mat hatter. However, after writing the review I understood what was missing in this story - the story. Weird things happen and Alice never questions them, but the weird things keep on happening, time after time. It doesn't make sense. I gave it 1 star because of Carroll's imagination and another one for the increadibly beautiful cover.

This is a weird one... Definitely something to read if you're looking for an easy, light, and happy story (that makes no sense whatsoever, but that's just expected). The dialogue in this book is simply brilliant. I love Alice. I love how she has ditsy moments and clever moments, and I love how her emotions change so quickly (as do every character's in this story). Some really strange shit went down in Carroll's head. I don't even know.
