About book Al Capone Shines My Shoes (2009)

I loved the first book so when I found out there was a second and third I was really excited, but also a little nervous I loved the first one so I didn't want them to ruin it. But when I finished I wasn't at all disappointed. The only I dislike I had was how when she started writing the romantic parts it sounded like it belonged in a Nicholas Sparks book, don't get me wrong I don't mind romance in book but it was a little over the top. I really liked what the author did with Natalie in this book, she was really helpful at the end and she made improvement and Ester P Marinoff. The end, with the convict escape attempt was the best part the action and plot twists made me never want to put the book down. I also enjoyed the character development of Jimmy and Theresa, I feel like they both matured a lot. I loved them before too but now they were even better. Also with Annie's crush in Moose made the plot even better. Overall I think this is an amazing book for all ages. Summary: The year is 1935 - Matthew "Moose" Flanagan lives on Alcatraz Island with his family and hangs out with other kids on the island, playing baseball, eavesdropping on adults, and generally staying out of trouble. The notorious mobster, Al Capone, is one of the convicts at Alcatraz and is in charge of washing the Flanagans' laundry - Moose slips a note inside of his shirt pocket to ask Al Capone for help in getting his sister Natalie into the Esther P. Marinoff school, a "boarding school for kids who have their wires crossed up" (Natalie has autism, a term that hadn't been coined yet). When Natalie is accepted to the school, Moose is pleased but worried that the warden will find out and his dad will get fired. Moose gets a note with instructions to give Al Capone's wife May yellow roses when she comes to Alcatraz for a visit. Does Moose comply and risk getting in trouble with the warden, or does he ignore the note and risk getting into trouble with Al Capone? This is a charming book about civilian life on Alcatraz Island. It had a good amount of suspense and coziness. This is the 2nd book in the series (I haven't read the first one but I'll definitely check it out).

Do You like book Al Capone Shines My Shoes (2009)?
