I found this paperback secondhand at my library's book sale. I'm glad I took a chance on it. A quick read, for which I was thankful. While I love this genre, most of the books tend to drag on after the first half, not pulling the trigger on that ending we all know is coming, boring the hell out of me. With Sins of a Wicked Dude, the majority of the story was in the first half, with the last half barreling towards the conclusion, thank goodness. Only one bout of dragging out the inevitable, but it was tolerable. The book's ending sets up the beginning of the next in the series.I read reviews before & after I read a book. Many stated they didn't like the Hero. After reading the book, I feel they may have not finished the book. Yes, in the beginning he is a bit of a rogue (but isn't that the point?) Obviously he isn't faithful. But why would he be faithful to a person who does NOT know exists? Oddness. I thought the hero was intriguing. The premise of the story is wrapped up nicely with a bow, and I can tell the other two books will also be as tightly complete. What would be engrossing is to go back in the past with other characters, and perhaps have some more backstory on the school they grew up in... *wistful sigh* Face-paced, original, sultry, and entertaining. Recommended to any historical romance fansWould I read more from this author: this is the first book I've read by Sophie Jordan, and I will most definitely read more from her in the near future. Will I continue on with the series: already have it queued up on my Kindle. At first, some of the things the hero does bothered me. But as I grew to know more about him, I felt more sympathy as to why he had become a notorious womanizer. The Heroine is a hoot, dressing as a male after several awful jobs where it was a real chore to keep her virtue. Of course she ends up with the wicked duke working as a footman. And of course she gets away with it.....for a while. A clever and cute story with some heart wrenching parts., I enjoyed the book.
