About book Adventures In Funeral Crashing (2000)

This was a cute, easy read. I enjoyed that the main character didn't sound like a 20 year old in a 16 year old's body, but at times she did sound a little young. The narration at the beginning was a bit too stream-of-consciousness for my liking, but it evened out as the story progressed. There were some good twists and turns in the mystery and, especially considering the relatively short length of the book, some good character development. At one point in this book, the female protagonist compares it to a cross between Nancy Drew and Veronica Mars. I'd have to compare it to a cross between Bridget Jones (for teens) and Nancy Drew. The mystery was OK. However, there was way too much hamster wheel type crushing on the boy thoughts. All of that probably does go on in a teenage girl's head when she gets to spend time with the boy she has had a crush on forever. But, seriously, does anyone want to read a book where that takes up about half of the book?

Average YA mystery. Pleasant characters. Kept me guessing a little.
