Do You like book Adrenaline (2013)?
Adrenaline is a medical thriller that won't put you to sleep! Afraid of a takeover one of the anesthesiologist at Mercy Hospital has taken it in his own hands to get rid of the younger, better educated anesthesiologists in the group in order to secure his position should the need arise, and he is willing to fight to the death for it. Doug Laundry, one of the other anesthesiologists at Mercy Hospital must keep his wits or he could be the next victim. Written by an anesthesiologist Adrenaline provides an in depth look into how precise everything must be in order to be able to wake up after being under anesthesia. The plot is a mind bender and I was intrigued by not just the murder bent anesthesiologist but also by how the intern and the head anesthesiologist are wound into the plot line. Some parts of the book were a little on the dry side which is why I didn't give it five stars but if you put those parts aside this is a medical thriller that you just have to read!

PUMPED FOR SURE....There were plenty of plot twists and turns and quite a few unexpected events. This book started off a bit slow compared to many other medical thrillers I have chosen to read in the past. Then it would pick up the pace and accelerate to more than one surprising event and then decline to the point I couldn't wait for some action. There were more villains than the norm in one context and they were really nasty!! I wasn't at all surprised to read the author's autobiography and how cool is it that he does EXACTLY in real life what he writes about? It's like he didn't have to do his homework, just go to work!!! I will read more from this author and this is one of my favorite genres any way. I would definitely recommend reads by Mr. Benedict. Even the conclusion was like the story just went away; interesting to say the least.

First, I must say that I only got halfway through this book before I gave up on it. So, the second half might be brilliant, but I'll never know. To me, the description and the first chapter sneak peek were misleading. I was expecting from the description that "murder is a rush" that this would be a fairly fast-paced medical drama. After the first chapter and until the halfway mark, the book devolves into rambling character studies of what seems to be every single character in the book. Very light on plot.
