About book Adopted For Life: The Priority Of Adoption For Christian Families And Churches (2009)

Everyone considering adoption and the reasons to do so, really should read this. It is a first hand encounter of a pastor's experience. This is by no means a check list of when it is okay to adopt or adopting how-to. It is most about how we are adopted into God's family when we decide to allow Him to be our savior. It discusses how we are called to adopt others for the same reason--serving the poor and needy and teaching them God's way. Loved this, and forever moved by the openness and rawness of this. Great, great book! I went into it expecting more of a theological perspective on adoption, since Dr. Moore is a theologian. While there was some excellent writing on the doctrine of adoption, the book also contains much practical wisdom, as he reveals many of the ups and downs he and his wife went through before, during, and after adopting their two sons from Russia. Some might have quabbles with a few of his points (such as what to do with ethnicity), but the overall book is well worth the read, even for those who are not even considering adoption at this point.
