About book Above The Bridge (2000)

Using the backdrop of Jackson Hole, Wyoming and it's surrounding area the author takes us on an adventure of a reporter Paige and what she discovers in her quest for a great story. Our protagonist finds herself in some awkward situations and has to rely on her wit and resourcefulness. to achieve her end results. The adding of the paranormal just didn't seem to fit somehow or perhaps it was the attitude of Paige taking it all in stride. A couple of things I really look for in a book is a cliff hanger moment or a surprise ending, which both were lacking but the story is still very good and enjoyable. A bit of a travel back in time if you can appreciate a good Nancy Drew mystery with a bit of romance coming though. I think this would be an excellent read for young adult females. This was a fascinating and enjoyable read because there were pages and pages of very well done descriptions of the area and its history. Jackson, Wyoming is my home town and I have been back to visit once in the last twenty-five to thirty years. Besides the atmosphere of the book, there is a good mystery and an even better solution to it by way of fantasy. The trip through the portals of reality are just what a book about a mystical area like northwest Wyoming needs. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a little fantasy and a lot of ambiance with their mysteries. I loved it!

Pretty average. Not bad as an airplane read.
