Rafe Bowman is here for his arranged marriage to Lady Natalie Blanford but before meeting her, the Wallflowers decide to have her companion, Hannah Appleton meet him and determine if they are compatible. What follows is a delightful story about Rafe's struggles to learn the ways of the ton and his attraction to the wrong person while trying to please his father in order to garner part of his father's company in London. At first I thought, oh no, another historical romance book. But I was pleasantly surprised with this enjoyable and well written book. I liked how the "underdog", Hannah, won the love of Rafe. Even though he didn't have the greatest past history of women, and as Hannah said, he was a rake, you grow to love Rafe and hope that love will overcome money, power, and pleasing his father. The wallflower girls, Lillian, Daisy, Annabelle, and Evie are everyone's best friends, helping friends and family to be happy ever after.
