Marcie's husband came home from the service more a vegetable than a man and after he died. She knew she had to search for the her husband's best friend, to find closure for herself. Against her sister and brothers wishes she set out on her journey. I enjoyed the story. I won't say how it ended but the road it traveled was interesting and held my interest till the end. The only thing better would be to continue their story. When Marcie's husband, Bobby, finally dies after living for 3 years after being badly injured while serving in the Marine Corps, she goes looking for his best friend from the Corps, Ian. The search takes her deep into the woods and up on a mountain close to the little village of Virgin River. This is another good story by Robyn Carr. The fact that the couples from the previous books take a prominent role in the story adds to its interest. These stories are all a little alike in some ways, and yet so different in others.
It is always fun to read at least one Christmas story in December.
