Acabei agora mesmo o segundo volume, que esteve ao nível do volume anterior, ou seja, muito bom.Jonathan Ransom está em Londres para participar numa conferência médica e encontra-se com Emma, a sua mulher que anda nas suas andanças pelo mundo da espionagem internacional. Jonathan é arrastado para uma explosão terrorista a um diplomata estrangeiro, em que a esposa esteve envolvida, e perseguido pelas autoridades policiais.Tive imensa pena que Marcus von Daniken não aparecesse neste livro. Sei lá porquê, assumi que ele apareceria na trilogia toda. Mas não, desta vez a parte policial ficou a carga de Kate Ford e Charles Graves, gostei deles, mas não chegam aos calcanhares de com Daniken e senti a falta dele.De Londres, a Itália e França, acompanhamos Jonathan a fugir e ao mesmo tempo a tentar encontrar Emma. Acaba por descobrir um bocado sobre o seu passado e, principalmente, as suas origens. Foi uma boa leitura, como com o volume anterior, foi fácil de ler e interessante. Custa-me é um bocado a acompanhar de que lado os personagens estão, quais são as suas alianças e lealdades. Reich is one of my favorite suspense authors and again he didn't disappoint me. The book itself was hard to put down, with non stop excitement and lots of twists and turns. My only issue is that given that this is the second Ransom book it appears Reich is moving away from his root. He was one known as the "Grisham of Finance Novels" with nearly all of his books having something to do with the something related to finance, financial markets, swiss banks, etc. Now he is wring international espionage books. They are good but not as unique as his books revolving around financing. Now he will have to compete with all the other authors who write international espionage books. Also, he used to write one book every couple years, it seems like now he is in the mainstream and pumping out books at a much quicker pace. I hope this doesn't hurt the quality of his books. Again, this book itself is a great read, just expressing my concerns for future Reich books.
