This is not the typical book I would read. Romance is not my favorite genre. But I did enjoy this. It is not too sappy. It tells the story of a women Jenny who was injured in war and returns to her grandmothers Amish home to heal. While she is there she see her former love. A widowed Amish man and his three children. Her two worlds are so completely different. Her English world in New York City and the Amish world she shares with her grandmother. Will her worlds come together or collide in a disastrourous way? This book actually surprised me, as I was not expecting a heroine recovering from wartime injuries to wind up in Amish country. This twist was unusual, but it made the story work. You really were able to connect with Jenny, become passionate about her beliefs and what she stood for, and cheer for her when she finally got to her happily ever after. Matthew was a bit harder to connect to, as the story focused more on her than him, but it was obvious that he did care for Jenny deeply. I really enjoyed reading this story and am looking forward to the next one in the series!
I enjoyed this book. I loved the Amish atmosphere! This has a sweet and loving storyline.
