About book A Tale Of Two Dragons (2013)

If you love Aiken's Dragon Kin series this is a must read. Once I started it I couldn't put it down. It is the story of Addolgar and Braith. We also see snippets of Ghleanna and Bercelak in their younger days. It is set way in the past before the old horrid queen is deposed. This book has been listed as a prequel but the series really should be read in published order or you just don't get the jokes. I'd call it book 6.5. From the beginning, I could tell that Aiken was the author. Her writing hadn't changed from the last book, so I felt like it was repetitive, and even though it was a short story, not much happened except family discussions. Some of the conversations felt like the author was being ridiculous for the sake of being ridiculous, but the characters were all fun. I liked the role reversal at the end, but I think I'll put off this series for a while.
