This was the next thrilling installment for the ridiculous book club that I am in. We chose it as a hot beachy text to warm us in Chicago in February. The book was completly stoopid and predictable, but in that reality TV way I've grown to love. It does touch on a few of the more problematic aspects of the Jersey Shore in a healthy-ish way. I read most of this while drinking a mimosa in the afternoon...on a weekday and it felt amazing. If you want something stoopid and fun to read, this is for you. To be very honest, I didn't expect to actually think that this book is... OK. I was only curious to read it because Valerie Frankel is Snooki's collaborator and having read one of Ms. Frankel's novels in the 90's (Smart vs. Pretty), I believe that she'd somehow "save" Snooki from utter disgrace. I've never watched an episode of Jersey Shore and if A Shore Thing is loosely based on it, well, both are disgustingly good. My favorite character would have to be Bella Rizzoli. I enjoyed the way her relationship with Tony Troublino developed, especially when she was found by him (after being date-raped) on the way to the movies with his mother. Trust me, this isn't the WORST book there is. Have you read the Kardashians' Dollhouse? :D
Do You like book A Shore Thing (2011)?
This was better than I expected. Fun fast look into another world.
