This story will get young readers to wonder if their lunch ladies have a double life. The illustrations were done in yellow, black, and white, which made them simple, yet appealing. The wording and the speech bubbles added to the story and brought the characters to life. The illustrations were set up like a comic book, which added to the feel of the lunch lady being a crime fighter. I can see 2nd-5th graders reading this book and enjoying it. The teacher can use this book in the classroom for writing prompts by asking the students what they think is going to happen next and who they think created the cyborg substitute before it is revealed. I must admit that I was not a big fan of this graphic novel. I believe this is due to me not being the target audience. Although I didn’t like the graphic novel, there is much for children to appreciate. Students will be intrigued by the action sequences and the easy to read format that the graphic novel presents. The illustrations were also well done with only the basic yellow, black, and shades of grey colors used. I would definitely keep this book around as it would likely appeal to students who are not enthusiastic about reading.
