He wants to have her, to taste her essence, claim her for himself, but is afraid of what she might be up to. Thinking she is there to spy on him for Niccolo his sworn enemy. He does indulge himself in her. They discover later he didn't use protection. Fearing shes pregnant they stay on his island for 40 days. All the time there they indulge themselves in each other. Elena is no more his sex slave.As the book comes to a close, she finally tells Alessandro the truth about her situation and that she loves him. He is angry at himself, at Niccolo and vows to get revenge. He tells her he will take care of her and they are to marry soon. She believes he is no better than Niccolo and only wants her land. They do get married and a few hours later she leaves him and goes back to her village. She believes she is a fool for trusting Alessandro. He finds her a few days later, comes to her, gives her some papers and tells her to read them. She believes it is a divorce agreement. She looks at them and they are signing the land back over to her dated on their wedding day. He tells her he never wanted to land, he only wants her in his life. He takes her by the hand and professes his undying love for her and he is sorry for everything he has done to her. The thing that really amazed me about Alessandro is he envied Angelo. Angelo was lucky he didn't grow up with their father and grandfather. The violence, dark dirty secrets, and pain it causes everyone he loves. Alessandro wants to change all that. He wants his family happy and not have to live under that cloud anymore. Alessandro Corretti whom we met in the first book ,Jilted at the altar, his arranged marriage in tatters has escaped to the yacht and finds his Elena who is an ex fiance of his enemy .Alessandro is a dangerous man with lot of darkness inside him who will not be scared of him. The darkness, the submissiveness and surrender these are three words which made the book delicious to read.I loved Alessandro Corretti's character a lot and Caitlin Crew as usual as done an excellent job again.
