Do You like book A Odisseia De Homer (2011)?
Well, I hoped so strongly that this book, finally, would be as great as the description from the book-of-the-day calendar. It sounds so great and right up my alley! Cats! Rescues! And finally FINALLY it was!You seriously cannot go wrong with this book. There were a few times I found the author a bit difficult, despite her talking about being underemployed and laid off, I never really felt like I had a good handle on her personality. What is it that made her husband, an amazing man by her account, love her? She's compassionate, (see: 3 cats) but other than that I didn't see a lot of...personality. But that may be by design, after all, the personality in this book is Homer, the blind miniature cat.I started this book yesterday and finished it this morning before getting out of bed. It was good enough that I didn't want to put it down, and when my husband woke me up leaving early, I was happy to curl back up with it and wasn't even tempted to go back to sleep. There were moments, with my husband sleeping on the other side of the bed, that I was trying as hard as I could to stifle my laughter, and pretty much shaking the entire bed with the effort. There are sad and tragic moments as well, the author describes being right there in the financial district on 9/11, seeing a man on fire plummet from the world trade center, leaving in the initial rush believing she will get back the next day, only to find that she can't get back for days and worrying about the cats like crazy. I understand why she did what she did, but at the same time, I can't believe she left her cats like that. I wouldn't have, but my cats are much better travelers than her descriptions.Homer is an amazing cat, and I had many of the same worries she did when I had all of my cats, am I a crazy cat lady? It made me a little sad that I won't ever meet him, he sounds awesome. It also really did make me want to go hug my cat a little closer and I didn't even get (too) mad at her when I almost stepped in the nice pile of vomit she left on my downstairs rug this morning. This might be my favorite book of the day so far.Book of the day for September 27-28, 2014!

An interesting description of a woman's relationship with an eyeless cat which she adopted... the book chronicles her observations of the cat's personality as it lives in a world without sight. The cat is an inspiration to her as he changes her life's attitudes towards obstacles, relationships, and life in general.I am not a cat lover and I have no experience with cats. I cannot do justice to this book in any review that I write. It would be better to read other reviews. The popularity of the book is evidenced in its Best Seller status.I gave this book a 4 because I found, in some places, I found the book to be over-detailed. However that is better than lacking detail.
