This was a tough one for me. I think a large part of my dislike of the story was the sister. She was exceptionally selfish and I found myself wanting to skip any sections that had her in them. I also didn't completely get the premise of the story. Yes, it was unrequited love, but with the 14 year old daughter and her nurse in the picture (and the crazy sister), this story was just too busy with character development to continue reading for what looked like it would become a low key steady romance. I stopped reading at about the 30% mark. Cute, funny little novella about a guy who falls for a guy, only to have that guy start dating his sister. It's also a story about a guy with a kid, who falls for a guy, but ends up dating the guy's sister, even though he really wants the brother. Cue some Three's Company style mix ups, and we have A Little Complicated. After three months, Ryan and Brady share one hot blow job, but Brady leaves the next day, to take a job out of town. Both pine for each other for the next 8 years, but when Brady moves back to town, of course he runs into Ryan's sister, Ellie, first, who sets her sights on Brady once again. Brady makes it clear he just wants to be friends with Ellie, but she keeps chasing, so Ryan tries to stay away, for his sister's sake. This situation would have been a lot less complicated if people would have just TALKED to each other. Ryan to Brady, Brady to Ryan, Ryan to Ellie. But, then we wouldn't have gotten this delightfully funny little story, so I'm not going to complain.Ok, I AM going to complain, just a tiny bit. This story could use a re-edit, lots of mis-spelled, out of place, or just wrong words, and even one tense change, which is what bumped this story down to a 3 star from me. It wasn't unreadable, by any means, but it could have been so much better without those little moments to pull the reader out of the story.

Perfectly sweet short story with a bit of angst. Loved it. Highly recommend.

Loved it! My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough. :0)
