I liked the premise of this book - a romance written by a handful of authors, each writing a chapter and passing it on for the next person to add to. It sounded really fun.But it was badly done. They didn't work together well. For example, hero and heroine are in the woods, getting logs before the pending storm hits, and suddenly there's a rustle in the bushes, a figure emerges, and a voice says, "Hey." And the next chapter starts, and THIS author has no use for whoever it was supposed to be so, they have it be the old neighbor, offering an invitation of coffee that they reject, and away into the woods he goes, gotten rid of so that THIS author can stage a chainsaw accident. Like that - very amusing.But the lack of secondary characters, plausible events, flowing storyline... it wasn't there. The whole survivor's guilt thing was contrived and didn't help explain the 'burden' the hero carried, the 'men leave' thing was underplayed... it wasn't good. Maybe that's why Amazon doesn't have this? What I found fascinating about this book is that it had 10 different authors. Even though they each had their own style of writing, the story held together and kept me interested until the end.You know how sometimes you crave something sweet like cake, or a cookie, however once in awhile all you want is some candy. Well, these light romantic stories are my "Mind Candy." Sometimes I just want to read something soft, sweet and cozy, and that is how this book felt to me, sweet and cozy.
