About book A Deal At The Altar (2012)

The hero was a misogynist, but at least he was a consistent character throughout the book. Heroine was big bosomed and plain (aka Jude Deveraux heroine as friend of mine mentioned). Fun scene was where heroine met up with hero's mistress and then went to ex boyfriend's to discuss a charity. Instead of accusing her of being a faithless bitch, hero wondered what he had done wrong and how he could fix it. Fulfilling cracky material. I liked this book mostly because of its heroine who came as a very pragmatic sort of person that we don’t often see in harlequin romances. Beatrice was neither too aggressive nor a doormat, and her kindness was not overrated like those heroines of some other harlequin novels. The hero, like most other heroes of Graham , came as a rich, demanding and opinionated person, but Beatrice refused to be a doormat. Anyhow, Sergios is able to redeem his image by the end. However, his love confession came quite unexpectedly since he did not give much prior proof of actually being head-over-heels for her except in the physical way. Perhaps if more of Sergios’ POV was shown then it would have made his feelings easier to understand and might have cut the edge off his abrupt love confession. Nevertheless, it was a really good read.
