This is the second book in the final trilogy of Feist’s long running Midkemia works. The first novel in this final trilogy was terrible, serving only to bridge from the past work, which was highly reviewed, into the final works. This novel, though poorly edited and still containing unnecessary review, was much better. It was fun to read and carried the plot forward. I’m looking forward to the final book. This was the book that I liked least of the entire Riftwar Cycle by Raymond E Feist. Beyond the normal spelling and grammatical errors that come with a novel were the massive plot and story continuity issues that Feist could not keep straight. This by far was the worst disappointment I have felt in a series in a long time. I can only hope that the final book 'Magicians End' makes up and is able to finish the story strong.
Do You like book A Crown Imperiled (2011)?
Better read, and a good bait for the final book in the series.
