Starting with the noisy ducklings born in the spring and ending with those same ducklings that are now sleepy, this picture book describes some of the animal babies that enter the world and their families. The handsome illustrations have been created by "combining handmade painterly textures with digitally generated layers, which were then compiled in Adobe Photoshop." Parents and their little ones will certain enjoy reading this picture book together and savoring their own time together. No matter how different they are, all babies need to sleep. This is a beautiful bedtime story about animal babies. The author takes you to many different types of animal families including those with siblings, those who live in pouches, and those with fur versus scales. But in the end, all babies need their sleep.Na's illustrative technique is unique. He uses a variety of textures and colors which brings the animals to life. The animals are colored creatively in some cases rather than realistically. This book is short--22 pages--but that makes it perfect for young children ages 0-4 for whom I would recommend this book.I enjoyed the book so much that I would have liked to see more pages of animals.
