About book A Bad Kitty Christmas (2011)

It's Christmas Eve and Bad Kitty is, well bad. He ambushes the angel and begins to tear up the decorations and makes an overall mess of the house. So why does Bad Kitty make such a mess? Kitty had a few gifts in mind that she just didn't get so she lashes out on the Christmas decorations. Poor Bad Kitty decides that this not getting what you want will just not do. So, when going on a trip in the family car, she jumps out and ends up getting lost. That is until a nice woman comes along and takes her home to help Bad Kitty find her family. This story seemed a bit long, but that may be because there were two ABC themes in the story, one to highlight all of the destruction and the other for Bad Kitty to relay all the presents that she had wanted for Christmas but just didn't get. Embedded within this story is also the theme of family and The Night Before Christmas. Overall, I think this is a very nice story that would make a fun read aloud and has some nice messaging. My heart just melted at the ending; you see I can readily identify with the Grandmother in this story. The old lady finds Bad Kitty after she has run away from her owner because she didn't think she was given enough presents. The old lady tells her what Christmas should really be about - family!I have never thought of putting pictures up on the Christmas tree but I will definitely do that this year. You see my daughter is grown and has her own Christmas traditions so I will probably spend Christmas evening alone with my dogs and cats.

My daughter adores this. We've read it three times in two days, and there is no end in sight.
