About book 50 Popular Beliefs That People Think Are True (2011)

Very intriguing read.I read this book as a freshman in high school, so perhaps my mind wasn't open enough to the idea of atheism, but this book didn't disprove my religion to me. I still hold true to the same beliefs I held on to before I began to read it. I was, however very enlightened by some of the other sections of this book revolving around other things. A very interesting read for skeptics such as myself. I appreciate that when it comes to subjects some of us *want* to believe in... including the author, he clearly says so.Examples would be UFOs, E.T.'s, and even Sasquatch. He loves Sci-Fi like many of us do, but he simply re-iterates his "we don't have real proof" argument. He's right of course ( for most of the beliefs, one of his arguments is inevitably that of real proof ) -- but sometimes it gets tiring to read the same thing over and over.I think the number "50" sounded good at the time, but it wasn't realistic. Some of the subjects seem superfluous ( fairies and witches ), while he could have spent more time expanding on important subjects such as the no-vaccination epidemic.

Excellent book, but a little too repetitive in its explanation of all 50 beliefs.
