About book 39 Weeks (2000)

Another pregnancy book in chick - lit. A really enjoyable read although at the beginning I was thinking, what the heck, Judy, hello??? I mean, okay, the pregnancy was a surprise for her and she was not very happy with it but sometimes I found her feelings and words describing it a little too harsh. I know that every woman reacts different, I know that not every woman is happy when she learns that she is pregnant but I was thinking about this little, little teeny tiny baby and was feeling sorry for it. It took Judy some time to get accustom to the fact that she is pregnant, indeed. What I missed a little, I don't know, maybe I am a kind of perverse already?, was more about the pregnancy itself. Okay, the pregnancy was the most important thing in the book, but I hoped for more details, baby:) There were moments that I was nodding with my head with understanding, it often rang a bell to my pregnancy and my feelings and I was really keeping my fingers crossed for Judy. Sometimes I wanted to mentally slap her and shake her but I was feeling for her as well, just thinking how hard it must be for a single woman. There were some other plots in there as well, so the book had a very nice shape in all and it was a funny read. Some romance, some drama, some problems and we have an enjoyable book. There was a lot happening, this book had its pace and the plot was sometimes really amusing and even if it was a little predictable, all in all it was a great light read. I was reading this on the bus earlier and actually laughed out loud so that the woman next to me looked at me like I was a little bit strange and shuffled to the edge of the seat! If you loved the humor of GAS-BAG you won't be disappointed. Any one who has been pregnant or is close to someone who has will love this book. From finding out to the delivery and all the ups and downs between, I really did enjoy this and laugh a lot! Well written, funny and true to life, Terri Douglas, you have done it again. 39 Weeks is brilliant! Very funny and brilliantly written. Laughed all the way through, and there were many things that rung true to when I was pregnant too :) Loved it! Merged review:Already reviewed this one as it is listed on here twice (Under Terri Douglas) but it is brilliant!
