Somewhat dated, but an easy read. The problem I am having in rereading Vonnegut's earlier work, is that his critiques of what was once seen as a utopian future are spot on, but his idea that the future would be populated by a prosperous middle class, is suddenly become obsolete. In fact the middle class itself is becoming obsolete. The future we are headed for seems to be populated by a large working class, a relatively small class of very well off technocrats, and a few extremely wealthy plutocrats who run the whole show. Well that was brilliant for something that only took up about twenty minutes of my life. God is Kurt a good writer it fries my brain. The sheer creativity of this short story is more profound than six novels by lesser authors. And compared to Vonnegut, most people look like lesser authors.Scary stuff. Read the damn thing it's ten pages long and I wouldn't have complained if it was a hundred.
