About book The Bond That Consumes Us (2008)

Five Heart review from The Romance Studio - Reviewed by Julia Tabor has been feeling restless for a long time. He has no mate, and to his horror lately he’s been envious of his friend’s fortune in finding one, and doesn’t quite know how to handle it. His past seems to be catching up to him with everything being quiet on the station, and he’s not sure how to handle all the time he has to think. Even his friend Kamran is starting to notice, so he sends him on an assignment that could keep his mind on other things. Kamran turns out to be more right that Tabor could ever guess, because when Tabor meets Fallon, he can’t think of anything but her. Problem is… that should be impossible.Fallon is a human bartender on a pleasure ship, and her life takes a turn for the worse when a murder is performed on the ship in her bar. She’s surprised when it’s a person she knows, and hopes they get it solved quickly. When Tabor walks into her bar, she’s instantly attracted and can’t wait to get to know him. Trouble is, he’s a Breil, and as far as she knows they only have one mate who can’t possibly be a human. They want nothing to do with any woman that can’t be their mate… or do they?Wow! I picked this one up and couldn’t put it down. Taber is a tortured soul, and I had a lot of sympathy for him when I found out what had happened to him earlier in his life. The way it was put together in the story explained a lot of his actions so that it made sense and really enhanced it. Fallon was a great character; she’s strong, sexy and knows how to go after what she wants, which is this powerful, dominant man. The sex in the story is passionate and hot, and in context. The secondary characters were great; they didn’t take over the story but I was left wondering what’s going to happen to at least one of them… Sean. I thought this was a fantastic story, full of rich characters and fast paced enough to keep me reading until the story was done. Don’t miss it!
