About book Face Of Evil (2011)

Matt Cahill is a fairly average guy overcoming his beloved wife’s premature death when tragedy strikes him, as well. Buried in an avalanche and his body not found for three months, Matt wakes up in the morgue. Outwardly, he’s no different, but now Matt can see things no one else can see. He declines the university hospital’s offer to become their guinea pig and embarks on a quest to find ever-elusive answers, and to stop the effects of the shadowy Mr. Dark, who can infect anyone with evil by a single touch. Matt is now a drifter, following his instincts and traveling from town to town in search of Mr. Dark.I love stumbling across pure pulp like this, and I’m glad I impulsively ordered both Dead Man volumes because when I finished the second, I still wanted more. These are stories filled with nonstop action, driven by mystery, and tinged with supernatural elements. Each approximately 100-page story takes place in a different town, with Matt solving a different mystery. Each time, he gets one step closer to Mr. Dark, but instead of finding answers, he only seems to uncover more questions. I plowed through this book in a matter of hours and couldn’t wait to start the next one. I picked this book up on the cheap during one of Amazon's deal days a while back. It's not a long read, but it was a good book. It reads like it was a series written for a TV show (but one for HBO or Showtime). The main character, Matt Cahill dies, but somehow comes back. Why? We don't know as this is the first book. I am curious to find out more about this character, and his potential foil, Mr. Dark. I need to get the next one in the series.
